Welcome to Portishead Men's Bowling Club

We welcome players of all ages and abilities and are always looking to recruit new members so, if you like the idea of some fresh air, a bit of gentle exercise, a lot of fun and a fair measure of friendly competition, why not give it a go?

We have an Open Day around the start of the season each year but, if you prefer something a bit more informal, or you just can't wait, why not contact us about coming along to one of our Monday club sessions?

2024 Captain and President's Day

The Club is affiliated to Bowls England and the Somerset Bowls Association and currently enters the following competitions:

Leagues:

Clevedon and District Over 55s League
Somerset Bowls League – North 1
Weston and District Over 55s League

Cups:

Bowls England Top Club
Bowls England Two Fours
Somerset Bowls Association Turnbull Cup / Wedmore Plate
North Somerset Four Dimensions Cup
North Somerset K.O. Cup
Weston and District K.O. Cup
Clevedon and District K.O. Cup

In addition, the Club plays friendly matches. These are largely mixed matches in which either our club or the Portishead Ladies Bowling Club take the lead.

There are a small number of men’s friendly matches and also some matches against touring teams, which may be officially hosted by the Association.

Captain Dave Taylor was delighted to present a cheque

for £1,023.00 on behalf of Portishead Bowling Club, to

Savannah Ebrahim of Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) and a further cheque for £50.00 by returned

funds from the Clevedon & District Indoor Winter League.
