Saturday 11th April
The bowling began on time again this year with sun, rain, wind and hail all within a couple of
hours this afternoon!
Well done to everyone that turned out for a very enjoyable Captain vs Vice Captain match to
get the season started.
Congratulations to those on the Vice-Captain's team who were the victors.

Sunday 26th April
Today was our first Open Day and what a brilliant day it turned out to be!
The weather was just about perfect and we attracted over 30 prospective new bowlers coming
in to give it a try. Pretty impressive as we were battling against the Food Festival as well.
Massive thanks to the Recruitment Team for all of their efforts in getting the message out there
and to everyone that turned up to help out.

Monday 11th May
We held our first Charity event of the season today in aid of
Portishead Youth & Community Centre & Children’s Hospice South West.
The weather was very kind, albeit rather chilly, so well done to all our members and friends who participated in a chaotic morning of bowls.
The brilliant raffle alone raised over £200!.
Gaynor won the spider, Hazel managed best overall score & Richard W got the wooden spoon!
Many thanks to the Ladies for organising the morning, Janet & Susie collecting monies, Geoff for the games, Geoff & Pam for standing down so we had the right number of players, and all the helpers on the raffle and bar.
Special thanks to Val, Wendy and Maggie for the lunchtime enormous hot-dogs and
fabulous cake selection. Well done all.
